Gina Snyder pushed to make it happen in Culbertson because she saw the importance of informed board members to prevent litigation, conflict and bad press by not knowing the laws. Paul Lachapelle, MSU Extension author of “Serving on County Boards, Districts, Commissions and Committees in Montana: A Handbook for Members, Local Government Officials and Citizens” gave a 2-hour training at the American Legion Hall April 29. Attendees represented many different public boards including weed board, fair board, library, Council on aging from 2 communities, school board, Conservation District and Action for Eastern MT representing low income people.
